Gap FW 08: Leather Satchel

gap-handbag-fold.jpg

Paging all of those who loved Anna Corinna’s City bag, but not the price! Gap has sort of knocked off the cult label’s (are they back to being Foley & Corinna…who the heck knows these days?) mainstay bag, the City. The Gap version has definitely undergone the Gap treatment and isn’t quite as contemporary as the original, but in some ways it’s a lot more chic. The satchel is made of leather that is a little more structured that the City (which has soft, floppy leather), making it appropriate for more occasions. Plus, with the Gap Leather Satchel, you can fold the top over and make a cool clutch. You can’t do that with the City’s thin leather. The Gap Leather Satchel retails for $150 and is available at gap.com.

3.1 Phillip Lim Gigi Woven Clutch

phillip-lim-gigi-woven-clutch.jpg

Things I love: 3.1 Phillip Lim. Things I DON’T love: 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Gigi Woven Clutch. There are many attitudes and statements I try to express through my clothing, but “picnic basket” or isn’t one of them. I like yellow, but the implied formality of a clutch doesn’t jibe with the country kitschiness of this bumble bee-esque yellow, black, and white calfskin number. What would you wear with it? Chalk this one up as a hokey miss from the usually on-point edgy designer. Available for $495 at Eluxury.com.

Blake Lively and Her Burberry Warrior Purse

blake-lively-and-her-burberry-warrior1.jpg

Blake Lively’s fabulousness knows no bounds. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look anything but flawless, and here she is on the Gossip Girl set showing off a trendy, chic and comfy ensemble punctuated by the fierce Burberry Warrior Bag. The cream color brings a soft touch to the studly purse, and Blake rocks it with her flat boots, textured tights and a fitted navy coat with shirred sleeves. The whole thing looks perfectly pulled together, despite how incongruous each piece may seem independently. Of course, I’m pretty much convinced that Blake can pull off just about anything. Grab your own Burberry Warrior Bag for $1995 at Nordstrom.

Chloe Oversized Leather Tote

chloe-oversized-leather-tote.jpg

chloe-oversized-leather-tote2.jpg

A shot of brilliant blue colors this roomy Chloe Oversized Leather Tote and makes it the perfect statement piece to add life to your fall neutrals. It’s a great choice if the berries and purples aren’t for you, and it’s a go-to weekend bag that offers numerous possibilities thanks to its roominess and practical shape. Each portion of supple lambskin is sectioned off by a strip of gleaming patent, so a slight geometric pattern emerges as a result. Available for $1790 at Net-a-Porter.

Coach Legacy Stripe Tote

coach-legacy-stripe-tote.jpg

Check out the runways for spring and you’ll spot plenty of stripes, on everything from cardigans to tights. I don’t think this Coach Legacy Stripe Tote qualifies as a passing seasonal trend since the stripes are such a brand staple, but this new purse style is one way to sport the look without allowing the stripes to overtake your outfit. The dark brown leather flap adds just the right amount of neutral coverage to the bold lines. I’m not a big fan of stripes in general, but I like the bag’s shape and could see it working well year round. Available for $698 at Coach.

Paris Hilton in plastic aviators

paris-hilton-in-plastic-aviators.jpg

Do you think she wakes up every morning, gets dressed, and says, “OK…how can I make this kooky?” These acid bright accessories seem to be a mainstay of Ms. Hilton’s ensembles when it comes to day wear. The aviators flatter her face, but the bright blue plastic frames are a bit childish, even for her. I mean, who wears sunglasses that look like they belong on a four year old with Louboutin boots?

Jimmy Choo Dessy Holdall Purse

jimmy-choo-dessy-holdall-handbag.jpg

The last few days of warmer weather showed some signs of Summer here in the Northeast and there’s nothing is more optimistic than a bright new bag for the season. A fun twist on the eyelet idea is this Jimmy Choo Dessy bag. Like tiny windows into the handbag soul, the small openings have a modern oblong shape (instead of the standard floral motif) giving it a clean, geometric look. Nameplate and tassels hang off the side. Availble for $1375 at Net-a-porter.

Cole Haan Multipocket Nylon Hobo

cole-haan-multipocket-nylon-hobo-handbag.jpg

These nylon handbags just keep getting more and more stylish, don’t they? There was a time when I would never have been caught dead toting a nylon bag, even if it did have a little upside down triangle and fancy Italian name attached to it. Labels like Michael Kors and Cole Haan are making functional hobos and totes made of ripstop nylon that are durable and stylish, thanks to pockets, hardware and bright trim. The Multipocket Nylon Hobo retails for $285 and is available at josephshoes.com.

Furla Leather Purse

furla-leather-handbag-orange.jpg

furla-leather-handbag-black.jpg

Is there a such thing as too plain? Sometimes…and this Furla handbag may be it. It isn’t the color, it’s the design. I mean, if bright orange can’t kick this style into high gear, imagine the thing in black or navy. I can appreciate a simple design most of the time, but it has to be done with stellar leather and killer details. This purse lacks both. Orange and silver? Check, please! The Furla Leather Shoulder Bag retails for $475 and is available at josephshoes.com.

Gisele Bündchen does simple right

gisele-bundchen-does-simple-right.jpg

So many times we see starlets and models walking around looking like fashion victims. Not supermodel Gisele Bündchen. I guess those years of modeling gorgeous clothes has taught the Brazilian beauty what works for her and what doesn’t. It probably doesn’t hurt to be naturally stunning, but Gisele does simple right in this seemingly plain ensemble. Of course when it’s on her figure, can anything be plain?

Christopher Kon Leather Shoulder Bag

christopher-kon-leather-shoulder-bag.jpg

It’s chic, and it’s simple, so you know it’s Christopher Kon. This handbag would work perfectly at the office, and also looks great with jeans and a cardigan on the weekend. It’s made of supple Italian leather, but isn’t too distressed, which is why I like it for a work environment. Measuring in at 12×12, the bag is big enough for your work things, and the roomy shoulder strap allows you to keep your hands free for hailing a taxi, jumping on the subway, or whatever else you work day entails. The Kon Leather Shoulder Bag retails for $345 at josephshoes.com.

Christian Louboutin Frame Clousure Outside Zippers Handbag

christian-louboutin-frame-clousure-outside-zippers-handbag.jpg

Is everyone else obsessed with this blue?! The man who made red soles famous did a surprisingly fantastic job making bright blue look just as sexy, even if it isn’t on the bottom of a show. The color alone is enough to make them stop and stare. I’m not sure how I feel about the actual design of the bag, as it’s a little awkward. I could have done without the braided handle and outsize zippers, but they aren’t enough to make me think the purse is hideous either. At $1650, I’d have to like the bag more in order to purchase, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate this beauty. It’s a risk taker, for sure. The Louboutin Frame Closure Outside Zippers handbag is available at josephshoes.com.

Burberry Studded Check Hobo

burberry-studded-check-hobo.jpg

For a little twist on the same ol’, same ol’, take a peek at this Burberry Studded Check Hobo. Sure, it’s unmistakably Burberry, but the darker print gives it a sophisticated edge. Slightly pleated, this cotton hobo is a cute classic that will stay in regular rotation for years to come. It’s especially appealing due to its year-round versatility: Wear it with your darker colors in the winter and pair it with a chic white pantsuit in the summer. Available for $1595 at Nordstrom.

Prada Pleated Purse

prada-pleated-purse-glicine.jpg

prada-pleated-purse-nero.jpg

Unusual texture and frivolous color make this Prada Pleated Purse stand out, despite its small size. More dainty than anything else, this handbag features pleated leather in lavender they call Glicine (adorable!) or black and a hint of gold hardware. It’s ideal for the woman who carries very little (in other words, not me) and just wants something highly fashionable and practical. Available for $1350 at Neiman Marcus.

Coach Ergo Leather Convertible Tote

coach-ergo-leather-convertible-tote.jpg

coach-ergo-convertible-tote-orange.jpg

This style of bag is nothing unique (doesn’t Foley and Corinna have something very similar?), so I can’t credit Coach for doing anything brilliant with the new Ergo Leather Convertible Tote. Despite that, this is a chic little purse that’s got a very smart, classy vibe about it. Perfect for the professional woman who doesn’t want to carry something hefty and burdensome, the Convertible Tote holds just enough if carried as a tote. When it’s time to relax, fold the top down and sling the strap over your shoulder. Available in burnt orange (very pretty), natural, white and black for $478 at Coach.

Heidi Montag with her sky blue Balenciaga City

heidi-montag-style.jpg

I used to really like Heidi Montag’s style (her hair always looks flawless, does it not?), but this season the MTV’s The Hills, it’s lacked in creativity. Here, she also looks like any other LA clone in a frothy sun dress topped with a leather jacket. Between that ensemble, the Balenciaga City and white Chanel J12, can you say wannabe? Come on, Heidi. You’re a pretty girl….do something more original.

Coach Signature Stripe Patchwork Shoulder Bag

coach-signature-stripe-pink-handbag.jpg

It’s the little flashes of pink that save the new Coach Signature Stripe Patchwork Shoulder Bag from being another run of the mill patchwork purse. It’s made up of the usual pieces: suede, patent leather, metallic cowhide and the classic signature print. The girly color scheme is bound to be a hit amongst those who weren’t crazy about fall’s subdued color palette. The interior features useful multifunction pockets and a large compartment to keep your change from rolling around. It’s cute, but perhaps best suited for the true Coach purse fanatic. It’s available for $398 at Coach.

Christian Louboutin Elsa Clutch

christian-louboutin-elsa-clutch.jpg

Sleek satin sets the tone for this unusual Christian Louboutin Elsa Clutch. Wide stripes lend this low-key piece a fresh, modern vibe that balances the glamorous material perfectly. It’s definitely not my favorite Louboutin handbag, but the unique elements, including the chunky rolled clasp, make it memorable. Available for $990 at Neiman Marcus.

Coach Ergo Patent Leather Pleated Framed Satchel

coach-ergo-patent-handbag-navy.jpg

coach-ergo-patent-handbag-pink.jpg

I felt an incredible rush of “Oh-my-God-I-have-to-have-that!” come over me when I first caught sight of the latest from Coach. This Ergo Patent Leather Pleated Framed Satchel (that’s a mouthful, huh?) is practically perfect. From the knockout pink to the classic navy (there’s also a beige), the colors are gorgeous. Not only is the gleaming leather fabulous, so too is the handbag’s practical, ladylike construction. An inside compartment with a kiss-lock closure gives it a unique spin, and it’s lined with the Tattersall print (better inside than out, in my opinion). I’m normally a big fan of pink, but the navy is really calling my name. It would be perfect to carry through fall, though the pink would be ideal to wear throughout spring. And the beige would work well year round. Looks like Coach owns my bank account this season. Available in limited quantities for $498 at Coach.

Interview with Luna Boston

luna-boston-website-screen.jpg

Luna Boston is a popular online shopping destination that features a wide selection of both new and established handbags. Their location on Newbury Street makes them neighbors with Burberry, Cartier, and Gucci, to name a few, and is one of the most expensive addresses in the country. Yet their online store has grown to service a large number of customers from all over the world.

We caught up with Luna Boston to get a look inside this popular yet pretty darn distinctive store.

Purse Page: Tell us about Luna Boston for our readers around the world who may not be familiar with you.

Luna Boston:
Luna Boston started as a labor of love on Boston’s Newbury Street, and has turned into an international online destination for the best in modern designer handbags. We sell bags from 20-30 modern designers at a
time, like Rebecca Minkoff, Botkier, and Lauren Merkin, and we are highly focused on offering a very wide selection and providing excellent customer service and support. Our customers regularly tell us that they shop with us because of our friendly staff, in stock policy, same day shipping, and easy returns — we try to make online shopping as enjoyable as humanly possible, while offering the best possible selection of modern handbags.

rebecca-minkoff-morning-after-bag-in-tangerine.jpg
Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag in Tangerine

PP: What do you see as the 3 hottest trends for this spring and summer?

LB: 1) Tropical colors are super hot: oranges, blues, and bold pinks are flying off of our shelves. We can hardly keep Rebecca Minkoff’s tangerine colored bags in stock (it all started with Vanessa Hudgens carrying the tangerine Morning After Mini!), and Foley + Corinna’s fuchsia and electric sea colors have been super popular as well.

2) Patent leather is still very hot. We love the way that Botkier does patent (especially the Marine colored mini Bianca) and Badgley Mischka Platinum and Cynthia Rowley also brought us extensive patent collections this season.

3) Updated neutrals. This season, lots of designers came out with neutrals that are much more interesting than classic tan or white….my favorites are the shimmery champagne and mocha leathers from Treesje, and a great new color called “dusty” from Rebecca Minkoff.

treesje-divino-shoulder-bag-in-champagne-shimmer.jpg
Treesje Divino Shoulder Bag in Champagne Shimmer

PP: Who is on fire right now? Are there specific designers who customers are asking more and more of?

LB: Rebecca Minkoff is super hot — we get so many of her bags in and they fly right out the door — we’ve sold out of a few styles before they’ve ever even arrived to us!

The next big one is Treesje….we love this line as we’ve carried it from the first day that we opened in 2004, but they are just starting to come into their own. We get more and more calls about this one every day — the designers use amazing leathers and their shapes are wearable but unique at the same time. You’ll hear more and more about Treesje in the next few months.

We’re thrilled to announce that we are going to be doing some exclusive collaborations with both of these designers for fall!

Lauren Merkin Lucy Baby Croc Metallic Lambskin Clutch in Silver

PP: What advice do you have for the woman is more budget conscious, but still wants to look fabulous at work, and out with her friends?

LB: She should focus on finding one great bag that will work for lots of occasions — quality, not quantity. With handbags, you really can usually tell the difference between a high-quality bag and a not so high quality bag, so I am a firm believer in splurging on one bag at the top of your price range, then making it work with lots of outfits.

Lots of women make the mistake of assuming that this means getting a black bag — usually, I’d say the opposite. Colored bags tend to be more neutral and stylish than black or brown in many ways; pick a color that you don’t wear on your body a lot to avoid clashing, and one that goes with black or with browns. I love a blue bag, or a nice shade of purple….they go with just about anything, any season. For shape, go as small as you can for day since you will be wearing it for night too. And as far as the type of bag, for versatility, I’d recommend a medium sized
satchel that can be carried in hand for work, or on the shoulder for a more casual look.

PP: How do you decide which designers to offer in your stores? Are you focused on designers who are more cutting edge, or offer more classic styles? Or a combination of both?

LB: We try to offer designers who are modern and stylish, and cutting edge enough that their products aren’t oversaturating the market. But, we are really focused on wearable products, so you won’t see very many overly
whimsical designs or bags that are too “out there” on our shelves. We love bags that are modern, but also classic enough that they don’t have a shelf life — you should be able to pull your bag out again next season, or in a few years, if you love it, without worrying that it will look dated. Most importantly, we look for products made with top-of-the line materials, and with details — like beautiful linings or unique hardware — that make women fall in love with their bag.

PP: How has your website grown? Are you seeing more people purchasing online now than before? And tell us about the shipping process. When a customer makes a purchase on your web site, what happens then?

LB: Our business has gone more and more online every year. At this point, we are really focused on our site as the future of the business, along with some possible new store locations to service areas of the country where
we already know that we have lots of customers. Most of our customers are from major cities on the coasts, although we have shipped to every state and many countries.

We try to focus on really making online shopping easy and gratifying. So, a customer places an order on our site…first things first, they know that the bag is in stock. Lots of websites show product that they don’t have available — our inventory is real-time, so if you order from us, it means we’ve got it ready to ship to you. As soon as the customer completes an order, our warehouse gets an alert to remove the item from our shelves. It’s then inspected by hand and boxed right away, along with a receipt and little gift to show our appreciation! Then the box
goes into our outgoing shipment room, and waits for one of our two daily UPS pickups. We guarantee that we’ll ship any orders placed before 3 PM EST the same day, or on Monday for weekend orders, so it’s important that we stay on top of every order as it comes in — when we get busy, getting behind isn’t an option!

PP: Name 3 bags every woman should have in her closet that will cover her for any occasion.

LB: 1) A great clutch. A shoulder bag or handbag just isn’t appropriate for evening, unless you are over 60. I love a patent clutch — my go-to is a gray Lauren Merkin Eve — or a metallic clutch. Either one can go dressy or can just dress up a going-out outfit.

2) A polished tote. Not necessarily structured, but big and classy. Every woman should be able to pull together a polished daytime look in an instant, whether for a last-minute interview or because you’re trying to get an upgrade to first-class on your next flight. A great tote is part of the package.

3) A stylish, modern medium sized satchel or hobo. This is the one that most women already have, since it’s often for everyday wear. I vote for the satchel - more modern right now - but if you prefer the hobo for ease of carrying, that works too. This is your fallback everyday bag, and for maximum impact, it shouldn’t be black or brown - your bag completes your outfit, and it should pop.

Thank you to Luna Boston for a fantastic interview! To see more of what they have to offer, have a look at their store at LunaBoston.com

Stella McCartney Metallic Patent Patchwork Tote

stella-mccartney-metallic-patent-patchwork-tote.jpg

This eco-conscious bag is from Stella McCartney. The Metallic Patent Patchwork Tote retails for $1,195 at intermixonline.com and is a great way to get the blues. I love this bag with jeans. Usually I’m opposed to blue bags with blue jeans, but because this one is a mix-up of patent blue colors, it’s a great handbag to mix with denim of any sort. This spring expect denim skirts and dresses from Philip Lim to Gap. The brass hardware resembles buttons and rivets on a pair of jeans, giving the handbag a quirky chic look that all Stella girls love.

MCM Boston Patent Duffel

mcm-boston-patent-duffel.jpg

mcm-boston-patent-duffel-side.jpg

This duffel bag is of the nicer variety, and not exactly the type you’d carry to the gym. The MCM Boston Patent Duffel is super glossy and hot. It’s modern in both design and material, and would look great with all of the beige that retailers will be stocking for spring. The seams and hardware add a little pizazz to the bag without overpowering the patent leather. It’s a pretty roomy handbag, making it great for travel or work. The only thing is you’ll want to be careful with this purse: patent can scuff it’s left in one position too long (i.e. set against another piece of patent), so be sure you store it in it’s dust bag, while stuffed with tissue to keep it looking pristine. The MCM Boston Patent Duffel retails for $1,150 at intermixonline.com.

Name That Designer Purse: Eva Longoria

name-eva-longoria-handbag.jpg

Desperate Housewives” is finally back, so we can expect to see a lot more of Eva Longoria and her teeny-tiny ensembles. In this pic the starlet pairs a strapless peach dress (or is that just a slip she’s hiked up a few inches?) with a bright blue bowler-style handbag whose designer I just can’t place. I love the color (blue + peach = very Santa Fe), and the gold chain link strap is gorgeous, but I still think the purse is too hefty for a petite princess like Eva. And her flimsy, barely there dress calls for a more lightweight bag, like a small shoulder bag or clutch. And what’s up with those bug-eyed sunglasses? Was Elton John having a yard sale?

Back to the purse…can anyone name the designer?

Banana Republic Snake-Embossed Clutchv

banana-republic-snake-embossed-clutch-amethyst.jpg

banana-republic-snake-embossed-clutch2.jpg

Every year, sometime in April, New Yorkers are treated to a fluke hot, sunny day or two, as a sort of preview to the summer. And while the mercury raises from 40 degrees to only about 70 degrees, all hell breaks loose. All of a sudden, the miniskirts come out, the tube tops get a go, the thong sandals get a dusting. I suspect that the men of NYC look forward to that one fluke day all winter. While this may be an April rite for some New York women, I, being of the firm opinion that miniskirts should be banished from one’s closet after a certain age, prefer to usher in hopes of warm weather by peppering my wardrobe with vibrant colors. This Banana Republic Snake Embossed Clutch does the trick beautifully. Made of embossed leather to resemble snakeskin, this thoroughly modern clutch is clean and unfussy and will be a go-to whenever you’re craving a burst of color. Its slim profile makes it a great choice for an outing with girlfriends or a night out with the BF/hubby. At just $89 and in a three different equally vibrant hues, this purse won’t eat into your summer vacay budget. Perfect! Pick one (or two, or three) up at BananaRepublic.

MICHAEL by Michael Kors Metallic Leather Patchwork Tote

michael-by-michael-kors-metallic-leather-patchwork-tote.jpg

If neutrals bore you, this bag will take you far. The Metallic Leather Patchwork Tote from MICHAEL by Michael Kors is a great summer handbag. The bright metallics and patchwork leather are a nod to warm weather. The strap is thin, so don’t pack it down with a ton of stuff or else it might start to stretch the handles, which is never a good look. The bronze color is great for pairing with wedges and flat sandals, and the metallic dresses up a casual look without going over the top. The Metallic Leather Patchwork Tote retails for $498 and is available at intermixonline.com.

Hilary Duff Flaunts Her Chanel Flap Handbag

hilary-duff-chanel-purse.jpg

Covering up with a black coat, Hilary Duff apparently doesn’t want us to see what she’s wearing…but she’s more than happy to show off the sleek black Chanel Flap purse keeping her shoulder company. While Chanel sightings are as ubiquitous as red Kabbalah bracelets at Madonna’s house, I personally never get tired of seeing the hip yet classic arm candy. Still, you’ve got to wonder…what will be the new “it” instant classic handbag that every celebrity and her personal assistant will be rocking?

Burberry? Fendi? Louis V? Where do you think the next big bag will emerge?

Kelly Ripa carries the new YSL Majorelle

ripa_yslmajorelle_fate.jpg

I’ll admit it: there was a time when Kelly Ripa’s popularity had me dumbfounded. But in recent years, I’ve taken a special liking to her and not just because she is a fellow New Yorker and seems to be a genuine sweetheart, but also because of her shoe collection. Reportedly, Kelly has a $50,000 shoe allowance, which makes me completely envious — and I’m no shoe-collector slouch! Even more recently, Kelly’s been spotted about town with some of the latest and greatest on her arm. Case in point: this hot, hot, hot Yves Saint Laurent Majorelle in a gorgeous midnight color. Here, Kelly’s running some errands with her children, Starbucks in hand. While Kelly looks casual and comfortable, the YSL Majorelle adds a classic, finished touch to her ensemble. You can find the Majorelle at Saks.com in a delicious berry color and basic black, for $1,395.

Mary-Kate Olsen’s Furry Purse? (2nd opinion)

marykate.jpg

You have to give Mary-Kate Olsen credit. It’s not easy to conceal the fact that you’re wearing hideous moccasin-style ankle boots, but, yep, carrying a Michelle Tanner-sized chincilla fur handbag will do it. This leather-trimmed furball comes courtesy of the SPCA. Kidding, kidding. It’s from designer (and the latest entry on PETA’s s%*@ list, no doubt) Leonello Borghi. On the one hand, the purse does complement the fur collar on Mary-Kate’s Margot Tennenbaum coat. On the other hand, ummmmmmm, let’s see….it’s a fur pelt with a handle (or is that a leash?).

What do you think? Is MK’s handbag totally fierce, or totally grotesque? And has it been spayed?

LC putting that Chanel jumbo to good use.

2qxmfyx.jpg

I love that Lauren Conrad reuses her purses, and more than that, she wears them in different ways. The Hills may be the most boring show on television (can we say scripted?!), but it’s always fun to watch, even if it’s just to see what the girls are wearing. Lauren has been seen everywhere with her black lambskin Chanel jumbo, and here she is wearing it casually (once again) with jeans and fringed boots. Isn’t it too hot in LA for those?!

Christina Ricci’s Louis Vuitton Monogram Denim Bag

christina-ricci-louis-vuitton-monogram-denim-handbag.jpg

In the upcoming film “Speed Racer,” Christina Ricci plays Trixie, a leading lady who’s all about the pink. In real life, though, Christina appears to be all about the denim, pairing dark, distressed blue jeans with a jean jacket and a Louis Vuitton Monogram Denim Bag. I haven’t seen this much denim since the rodeo left town, and I’m not a big fan of the denim-on-denim look, but I’m not willing to blame that on Louis V. The Vuitton handbag is the best part of this ensemble, balancing a luxurious street cred with a casual-cool style. It’s relaxed but somehow refined at the same time. So the bag can stay - but Christina, honey, please lose the jean jacket.

Name That Designer Purse: Lauren Conrad

name-lauren-conrads-purse2.jpg

name-lauren-conrads-purse1.jpg

Now that her arch-nemesis Heidi Montag is rocking a Chanel handbag of her own, “Hills” star Lauren Conrad has deftly switched gears and moved on to something new: this adorable turquoise-blue clutch. I’m in love with this simple but stunning look - the smooth ponytail, the golden California tan, the white sundress…and the bold blue clutch to give it that colorful oomph. It’s a chic look for summer, and one that anyone who didn’t grow up in Laguna Beach can copy for themselves. Still, I’ve got to know - who designed Lauren’s clutch? And how long will it take Heidi Montag to get one of her own.

Fendi Hair Hide Fringe Handbag

fendi-hair-hide-fringe-handbag.jpg

Considering this design, I’m inclined to believe Fendi is under the impression that they have a free pass this year to just go nuts thanks to all of this year’s bold, adventurous trends. As if they didn’t do that last year! To Fendi’s credit, they have been somewhat normal again in recent months, so I suppose one slip-up can be forgiven. That’s quite generous, given the heinousness of this Hair Hide Fringe Bag. Yet again we’re all forced to ask what the heck they were thinking. It actually wouldn’t be so bad without the multicolored fringe trim - a simple black and white purse is always fairly chic. True to form, though, the purse goes overboard and the result is something that can best be described as crazy. Available to pre-order for $5420 at Neiman Marcus.

Lilo’s Purse ID’ed

lindsay-lohan-handbag-identified.jpg

The lovely woven metallic satchel that has been on Lindsay Lohan’s arm for nearly two weeks (and that’s a long time for this girl to stick with a bag) has been identified as Dolce & Gabbana. The satchel shape was shown in several of the brand’s S/S 2008 ads, and the real life version is just as lovely. Satchels are a huge trend right now, and there are plenty of inexpensive versions on the market for spring and summer. Choose one in a metallic tone, or go bright and artsy, like the Dolce & Gabbana originals.
